# Polls

> Run polls in Discord and track results in real time from your dashboard.

Polls are a simple but powerful way to involve your community in decisions. Whether you're choosing between two event dates, asking for feedback on a new idea, or just running a fun question of the week, Apetopia makes it easy to create polls directly from the dashboard.

## Creating a poll

1. Go to **Community → Polls**
2. Click **New Poll**
3. Enter your question
4. Add between 2 and 6 answer options
5. Set an end date and time
6. Choose the channel where it will be posted
7. Click **Save as draft**

The poll is saved as a draft and not posted yet. From the poll list, click **Post** to publish it to Discord.

Members vote by clicking the button that corresponds to their choice. Results are visible in the dashboard — expand any poll to see the breakdown.

## Poll status

| Status     | Description                           |
| ---------- | ------------------------------------- |
| **Draft**  | Created but not yet posted to Discord |
| **Active** | Live in Discord, accepting votes      |
| **Closed** | Voting ended, results locked          |

You can **Close** an active poll at any time. Active polls cannot be deleted — close them first.

## Tips

* Keep poll options short and clear — long text gets cut off in Discord.
* Set an end time for important decisions so results don't drag on indefinitely.
* Share the results with your community after the poll closes. It builds trust and shows you're listening.
