# Mystery Box

> Create a mystery box experience where members pay SOL and receive a random NFT from your vault.

Mystery Box lets you set up an experience where members pay SOL and receive a random NFT from a vault you curate. They don't know which specific NFT they'll get — that's the excitement. It's a popular mechanic for generating urgency around a drop or rewarding your community.

## How it works

1. You load a vault wallet with NFTs you want to include in the mystery box
2. You set the price and configure the mystery box in your dashboard
3. Members open a box through the public box page — they pay SOL and instantly see which random NFT they received
4. You transfer the NFT from your vault wallet to the buyer's wallet

  The NFT transfer is done manually by you (the creator) from the **NFT Transfers** tab. Apetopia facilitates the payment and reservation — you are responsible for sending the NFT to each buyer.

## Setting it up

1. Go to **NFT Suite → Collection Tools → Mystery Box**
2. Click **New Box** and give it a name
3. In the **Settings** tab, click **+ Add NFTs** to add NFT collections from your vault wallet
4. Set the price per box
5. Optionally, select a Discord channel to automatically announce each winner
6. Click **Save Config** then toggle the box to **Active**

A public box page is generated automatically.

## What buyers see

When a member opens a mystery box:

1. They connect their Phantom wallet and click **Open Box**
2. They sign a SOL transfer to your treasury wallet
3. The page spins and immediately reveals which NFT they received
4. They wait for you to transfer the NFT to their wallet

  Monitor your purchases in the **NFT Transfers** tab and transfer NFTs promptly after each purchase to keep your community happy.

## Sending NFTs to buyers

Open the box in your dashboard and go to the **NFT Transfers** tab. Connect your vault wallet (the one that holds the NFTs) and click **Send NFT** for each pending transfer. The transfer is signed via Phantom and recorded automatically.

The tab shows a badge with the number of pending transfers so you always know when action is needed.

## Discord announcements

In the **Settings** tab, you can select a Discord channel where a winner announcement is posted automatically each time someone opens a box. The announcement includes the NFT image, the winner's wallet, and a link back to the box page.

Your Discord server must be connected to Apetopia first. Go to **Discord Settings** to connect it.
